BGMI and PUBG Mobile 1.8 update release date and features revealed

The official release date for the PUBG Mobile 1.8 update is January 12, 2022 (7:00 AM IST), and for the BGMI 1.8 update is January 14, 2022 (7:00 AM IST). BGMI is well-known for receiving every update following PUBG Mobile’s worldwide version.

According to the official source, BGMI will receive the 1.8 update version two days after PUBG Mobile’s debut.

The 1.8 version upgrade began going out on certain smartphones today (12 January), and will be available for download on the Play Store by 18 January.

The next version promises to cure more issues and improve UI, but it will also bring significant modifications to the game’s unique modes and features, some of which are detailed below.

New features with the 1.8 upgrade.

1) The Jujutsu Kaisen collaborative mode

The 1.8 update will include a new mode called Jujutsu Kaisen. Like the mirror world mode, players will be able to play this mode on both the Erangel and Livik maps.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a popular Japanese manga/anime series that is partnering with BGMI. There will be four characters from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime for players to morph into.

2) New Achievement Titles

There will also be additional achievement titles for the Jujutsu Kaisen mode, such as Jujutsu Sorcerer fantasy. There will be titles such as Guess Master, Investigation Private, and Investigation Major.

3) Reviving in the water

Previously, players were killed when they were knocked into water. However, with this latest update, players will have an additional chance to save themselves. Players can now swim in the water even after being knocked out, and their teammates can revive them as they swim.

4) New sight scope

This update will also include a completely new sight scope that looks quite similar to the holographic sight. At first glance, it appears to be one of the Holographic sight versions in the standard square shape.

5) Aftermath mode in Livik

Livik will also have a whole new mode called Aftermath. The Aftermath mode is a 2X2 level set in an apocalyptic environment where players will encounter volcanoes and other disaster sites. The mode will be unranked, with players unable to push their trophies.

6) Santorini 8 vs 8 TDM map

The game will also have a new Team Deathmatch map named Santorini. The Santorini is an 8 against 8 team deathmatch map in Arena mode that will provide a new place for PUBG enthusiasts to rain down gunfire.
